Botox is an injectable anti-aging solution that has been approved by the FDA and is used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and creases. This treatment is performed in-office and does not take more than an hour. After treatment, patients are able to return to their daily activities immediately and results are visible after a few days.
What Areas Can I Treat with Botox?
Botox is most commonly used to treat wrinkles on the forehead, the furrows between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet around the outer corners of the eyes. It has also become popular to use Botox to reduce the visibility of a gummy smile and reduce the size of the masseter muscle to slim the jawline.
How Much Botox Will I Need?
The amount of Botox you will need will be determined by the areas where you want to apply it and the strength of your facial muscles. It is possible to treat multiple areas in one session. The average range of Botox units are:
Forehead Lines:10-30 units
Frown Lines:10-25 units
Crow’s Feet:10-30 units (5 to 15 per eye)
Gummy Smile:4-5 units (2-2.5 per side of mouth)
Masseter:50-60 units (25-30 per side of jaw)
